- Disney-ing with little kidsIn Disney World Discussion·March 3, 2024Planning our first Disney trip with an 8 and 3 year old. Might you consider doing a video with tips for disney-ing with littles? Special experiences just for little kids? What to do if one in your party is too short for a ride (can part of your group tap in for a lightning lane while others do something else with the little and then switch?) Advice if you want to leave a park for a mid-afternoon nap and come back (ie: worth the splurge for a monorail hotel for ease of return)? Would really love your advice and thoughts on how to make the most of this experience with a “younger and shorter” family member. Thanks so much!!!1685
- Disney Dining Reservation PrioritiesIn Disney World Discussion·March 5, 2024We have our 60 day window coming up and will be staying onsite. We plan to try Ohana, Garden Grill (earliest possible), Roundup Rodeo, and several others I’m not worried about getting reservations for. Which should I prioritize first? All will be after our 2nd park day so it’ll be 63-65 days in advance which should help this time.16222
- Crazy Idea maybe? In Ear Scouts LodgeApril 23, 2024I don’t see why you would have to check in physically since check-in usually isn’t until 4pm and the Express Pass should be working at park opening. Of course, if you’re paying for the room, I would still check in and use it as a home base during your Universal day. You certainly don’t have to spend the night if you didn’t want to. I’m not sure if Universal hotels have online check in but it’s worth “checking out” (sorry, I’m prone to bad puns). Still, I’d shoot Universal an email just to see what their check in policy is in regards to the Universal Express deal. It’s crazy that it’s cheaper to get a hotel room than it is to pay for the Express Pass outright!23
- LLMP Strategy VideosIn Lightning Lane Forum·October 14, 2024Hi Rob, First off, I want to say I’ve learned so much from your previous Genie Plus videos—thank you! We’ve been to Disney twice now, and everyone thought I was a genius for getting them on all the rides, but I gave you all the credit! Your "27 Best Tricks" video and the individual park strategy videos were especially helpful. We’re heading back in January, but I don’t feel as confident with the new system as I did with the old Genie Plus. What are the chances we could see at least one LLMP strategy video before then? Watching you work the system in real time at the park has been invaluable! Thanks again for all you do! Jacob2355
- Rise vs. TowerIn Disney Genie Forum·May 28, 2024Hey everyone! I'm tryin to decide between one of two rides to go for during early entry on my upcoming trip. On one hand, I'd like to try and rope drop ROTR to get it out of the way. However, I know from watching the videos that it does have a tendency to not be functional for Early Entry. if I remember correctly, there would be no way to know if Rise is working until you go there, right? Should I just bite the bullet and buy an ILL for rise and go for ToT? (I'm going to be using Genie+ for Slinky; that much I've decided on). Any tips? Thank you!1574
- Lyft to International GatewayIn Disney World DiscussionMay 2, 2024Thank you, so if you went to Beach Club for opening at Epcot can you give me details on what time and how this would work. Thanks!1
- Earliest time to modify LL?In Disney Genie Forum·April 19, 2024Hi! I’ll be vacationing with my daughter for a short trip coming up in May, so exciting! We have park hopper tickets, and the first day I’m planning on Animal Kingdom followed by Epcot. I haven’t decided yet whether to do a park hopper genie+ or genie+ just for Epcot. Remy is a must do ride with either Genie+ option, my question is how early can a LL be modified once selected? Ie: If Remy is chosen as our first LL selection at 7am, and I’m given a return time of 9am but need an afternoon time, how early can I try to modify that return time? I may be in the minority where an early LL for Remy wouldn’t work, as we have plans to hop to Epcot in the afternoon! Thanks in advance and keep up the great work with the videos! :)15111
- Disney Holiday PartiesIn Disney World Discussion·October 26, 2023What is the best strategy for the holiday parties? I know the first night(s) would be fun to say you were there, but if you are trying to maximize your dollar does it make sense to wait? Do most parties like the Very Merry Christmas party sell out now? Any general advice for days would be helpful.1592
- Park Parties for Rides Only and Late Entry - Worth It?In Disney World Discussion·August 8, 2024I've treated myself to a second visit to Orlando this year for my Birthday! Staying at Universal Orlando, but hope to visit Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, but I only have 5 days in total including departure day. I'm thinking of going to the Mickey Christmas and Jollywood parties, but I'm only interested in rides (and not shows, food or character meet and greets), and probably won't have time to enter the parks early. In fact, my flight arrives at MCO after 6pm on 13 November, and there's a Jollywood party on that night! Is that cutting it too fine? I guess by the time I go through customs, check-in at Universal, then uber it to Hollywood Studios, it will be about 8.30pm!! Is it worth going to these parties for the rides only? If I enter the park an hour or so after the party officially starts, do I still have a good chance of getting on all the big rides? I've done After Hours at both parks before and most rides were pretty much walk-ons apart from Tron and Seven Dwarfs...I guess the parties may be busier though! Thanks for any tips :-)1574
- Looking for info and ideas….In Welcome to Ear ScoutsJune 18, 2024You will have a great time!!! I would ask folks what their absolute top three things are, and then try to prioritize them for the first two days while their stamina is at its highest. That way, if they wear out and want or need to spend more time resting, they already knocked out their top things at least. :) It might be a good strategy to have one group in the "morning shift," then come back to the hotel and swap with those in the "evening shift"? That way nobody gets too tired and you could even split groups according to age or preferences? If you have park hoppers, you could hit one park in the morning and one in the evening? The only downside of this might be less together time as one big group. Sometimes folks don't recommend table service meals due to the time they take up and the price, but if those aren't concerns I very much recommend them, it is soooo nice to sit down out of the heat and not have to worry about fighting anyone for quick service seating (not literally fighting, haha, but it is hard, you gotta watch like a hawk and swoop in when one is free!) We did 1-2 table service meals every day during our trip (one day we even did 3!), and when combined with Genie+ we were still able to do everything we wanted. Table service meals are also a great way for your kids to meet all those characters they want to meet, all at once with no lines and in the AC! Recommend Akershus especially for the princesses. We met Mickey at Garden Grill and Topolino and both were great! One last tip, get Magic Spotter flags for your strollers from Etsy, ours made it so easy to instantly spot our stroller no matter where it got moved. Let us know how it all goes!22
- Boardwalk to StudiosIn Disney World DiscussionSeptember 24, 2024I always suggest walking, especially if you are staying on the Villas side of the resort. If you happen to see a boat leaving Yacht and Beach and you think you can catch it at the Swan and Dolphin, that may be quicker but you have to time it just right. I agree with Jonny when it comes to early entry too. Think of it as a guaranteed arrival time vs. having to possibly wait for Disney transportation. BTW, the order of Friendship Boat stops is: Epcot - Boardwalk - Yacht and Beach - Swan and Dolphin - Hollywood Studios. The route is just reversed going from the Studios to Epcot.22
