I did my first solo trip this past october. I'd been holding on to 4 magic my way PH tickets for 12 years ( i didnt' realzie it was that long). I spent 4 days in the parks and did a night of MNNSHP (so i only used 3 of the tix). Stayed at POP. Had a wonderful time. Also did the keys to the kingdom tour. Park hopping is the way to go. I did MK, then epcot, back to pop for a shower and nap...then HS for a night cap. So much fun!!
Although I live here, which is a bit different, I do end up in the parks by myself a good bit and my best advice would be to make sure you get a park hopper ticket. One of the joys of being solo is the ability to be impulsive and do whatever the heck you want.
In Hollywood Studios but suddenly craving a snack from Epcot? Just hop on the Skyliner and you're there. With Disney transportation between all the parks and resorts, it can be a lot of fun to just be spontaneous and hop around Disney World to your heart's content.
That is a huge help. I have always wondered why people get Park Hoppers. I was planning to do 2 days Hollywood Studios and 2 days Magic Kingdom on my next visit. I love Epcot but I find it so hot with no shade that I scratched that off. Maybe I should reconsider all parks - can you tell me thoughts for an 8 or 9 day trip Solo staying at Pop.
8 days is a good long trip and you should be able to easily do everything on your wish list and then some. With that many days, I wouldn't overplan things and be sure to include some time to enjoy parts of WDW that you haven't explored before. Maybe visit Disney Springs and hop on the boat to Port Orleans French Quarter for a Mickey-Shaped beignet at Scat Cat Club or take the bus from Animal Kingdom to Animal Kingdom Lodge to explore the resort and see the savannas. We LOVE going to Boma or Sanaa (both at AKL - Sanaa is at Kidani Village) for a meal. The bread service at Sanaa is wonderful. It's also nice to take a boat to Wilderness Lodge from MK. Maybe set some goals each day to cross off some of your favorites and then use the other time to explore new things while you are free to go wherever you please.
