- We're working on a new series of Disney World 101 videos – what topics should we cover? In Disney World DiscussionJanuary 24, 2025They all sound like great ideas. I don't know how this would work, but something that would be useful for people who aren't regulars would be which route to take to get to the key locations in the parks. Obviously I know you can look at the map, but sometimes translating that to what's actually in front of you isn't as easy as it sounds. I can recall a couple of times we were at the front of early entry, ready to head to Rise of the Resistance or Flight of Passage having not been to the parks for over 10 years suddenly panicking because I didn't actually know which direction to go in!22
- Let's talk about Disneyland Paris! In Ear Scouts LodgeNovember 8, 2023Fantastic video, and really sold me on Disneyland Paris. I had forgotten how beautifully themed it was. I went the year it opened on a school trip and then a couple of years later, so was lucky to ride the original Space Mountain, which was pretty cool. Thunder Mountain was also a highlight, and I too loved Indiana Jones despite that incredibly tight loop (totally unexpected!) and one of the slowest queues I've ever been in! I'm not a massive fan of walk-through attractions, but when they're amazing as in Paris, I guess it feels like being in a Disney movie :-) The one criticism I've often heaed about Disneyland Paris is the lack of Disney atmosphere, despite the amazing theming and landscaping. I just associate Disney with the USA, and Disneyland Paris from that perspective just doesn't feel right, and people I know who have visited have told me the cast members just aren't as into Disney as they are in the US. Saying all that, your video has made me keen to go back, and being in the UK, I can drive or take the train there! Might book a trip for the Spring!32

- WDW in MayIn Disney World DiscussionApril 8, 2024I’ve been in May several times and it’s great! Weather is usually warm/hot and crowds aren’t as big as they are for spring break, or later in the summer.32
- What’s in your bag?In Disney World DiscussionMay 27, 2024From now on... as little as possible, haha! I took so many things the Internet said I would need and I didn't end up needing them. What I did need: -- small backpack -- ziplock bags -- hand sanitizer -- umbrella -- phone (obv!) -- backup battery pack for phone -- whatever you're having characters sign + markers -- hat -- sunscreen -- ibuprofen -- water bottle I didn't bring my whole wallet, I just had my ID and a backup credit card in case my magic band stopped working. We didn't end up using stomach meds or bandaids (thank goodness) but it was probably a good idea to have them anyway. Glasses cases, battery pack, umbrella, and pins/buttons inside a bag are what seem to set off the detector! I do want to reassure people though that at least for me, the bag search took like 30 seconds - a minute, it really wasn't a huge deal or slowed me down much. That said, I wasn't trying to to speed walk to Seven Dwarves or anything. 😅32
- Rides/Attractions Hi. I am trying to make a plan for the different parks to stay close to rides when using Genie+.In Disney World DiscussionOctober 30, 2023Hi Mary! Our "Practically Perfect Day" series is geared toward using Genie Plus without criss-crossing the park more than you need to. Those might be helpful in your planning. Here are the links to the ones we have done so far: Magic Kingdom: https://youtu.be/ySvkVrdJzZE Epcot (During a Festival): https://youtu.be/JZO8eapym38 Your question actually reminded me that we need to finish that series! Putting it on the to-do list. 😀32
- LLMP unlocked if first booked ride goes down?In Lightning Lane ForumDecember 31, 2024Hello! This actually happened to us in Hollywood Studios. I don't know if this is what "normally" is supposed to happen, but it was our experience. Our first LLMP was for the Aerosmith coaster just after the official park opening, but it was down before the park even opened. We were there for early entry and rode a few other attractions hoping that the coaster would get fixed, but unfortunately it didn't open until mid afternoon. Just shy of an hour before the end of our LLMP window for the coaster, we automatically received a redemption pass which then opened us up to book other attractions. We could have gone to the Guest Experience tent and have them do that for us earlier in our ride window (you are correct Craig, we later heard that they could have fixed that), but we choose not to do that for two reasons. One, we were already in the back of the park and the wait times were not too bad. Second, the closest tent to us was not very close, and honestly we experienced multiple ride delays during our stay and the lines at the tents were filled with angry people that were never short; so for us, we didn't want to waste the time standing in line at the tent to get that fixed....we used to time to be in line for a ride. My thought is that if the tent is close and you want to ride another popular attraction with your LLMP, then I would go to the tent. I think that it is a tough call especially first thing in the morning because the later you tap in, the harder it becomes to get a LL for the popular rides, so know where the tents are and cross your fingers that the line is short! Also, I'm not certain why, but the Guest Experience tents in the AK weren't blue. They had on blue shirts, but the tent wasn't blue. We thought that they were all blue and passed one in that park several times until be actually read the top of the tent 😀3
- If anyone can do the Parkeology Challenge - it's Rob & ErickIn Disney World Discussion·April 21, 2024Rob & Erick, have you guys ever considered taking on the Parkeology Challenge for one of your videos? The last legitimate completion of the Disney World Parkeology Challenge came back in 2019, so if you guys were able to do it, you'd be my personal heroes! (Feel free to ask for tips with planning, I'd love to pitch in!) Has anyone else here ever tried completing as many rides in the 4 parks in one day as possible? If so, what was your record?3257
- DisneySea TokyoIn Ear Scouts Lodge·June 26, 2024Heigh-Ho fellow ear scouts! Greetings from Singapore, where we've just got back after a short trip to Tokyo. For those whose geography is a little rusty, Tokyo is in Japan and is a 7-hour flight from Singapore. It has two Disney Parks - Disneyland Tokyo and DisneySea Tokyo. The former is quite similar to the Magic Kingdom, whereas the DisneySea park is a cross between Epcot and Hollywood Studios - sort of! The Japanese people are warm, friendly - and obsessed with all things Disney! Pretty much everyone is wearing some sort of Mouse headgear and some are in almost full costume (which is more tolerated there than in any other Disney I've been to). The queues (lines) for rope-drop are on another level. Arriving 2 hours before the park opens won't guarantee you're near the front of the queue, but people are friendly, non-pushy and just - well, queue up politely! We only had one day this time and you can't park hop. But tickets are reasonable (around £50 or around USD60) per park although I'd recommend only trying to do one park in a day. There is easily enough to keep you entertained. There are several on-site hotels some with doors straight into the parks, but they only get you a 15-minute head start into the park - however they are beautiful and if you don't want to navigate Tokyo, it could be worth it for your family. The one biggest difference we found is, gosh, the parks are stunning. I've visited Disney all over the world, but this park feels like it's on another level with detail. The Disney Imagineers have gone all out. You could spend a month in one park and not take in all the details. Absolutely beautiful. The park when we visited (June 21st) was open from 9am to 9pm. We got in at 8.40am and we headed straight to their version of the Tower of Terror. It's a different ride to the USA version in Orlando - it features the explorer Harrison Hightower who may look familiar as he is modelled off retired Imagineer Joe Rohde who was the mastermind behind Pandora – World of Avatar, and Aulani, among many other Disney parks credits. I won't bore you with my whole day, but there are many familiar rides and many you will never have done before like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Centre of the Earth - and the nicest part for us, was we arrived just a few days after they had opened a whole new land expansion called Fantasy Springs which combines the worlds of three popular Disney movie franchises – “Peter Pan,” “Frozen” and “Tangled.” I took video on the Frozen ride for Rob! The day concludes with a 20 min spectacular similar to what goes on, on the water at Epcot plus 30 mins later, some decent (though not USA level) fireworks. To access rides you can get 'standard' (ie free) fastpasses - like the old US system of one at a time. Or you can pay a premium and get a premium access pass. We only bought one of those when the ride we wanted was at 90 mins and the queue was outside (it was tipping down with rain whilst we were there). In conclusion, if you can ever go to Tokyo, do it. All the international parks have something different to offer - but I think Tokyo Disney does offer a totally new Disney experience - and if like me, you just love the little bits of detail - then you will lose your heart to this park. A few pics attached and I'll try to answer any questions you might have. Bye for now Ear Scouts buddies! Sally3235
