- Thoughts on the Lightning Lane Premier PassIn Lightning Lane ForumSeptember 11, 2024That makes a lot of sense. They'd have to be careful with the optics. If they coordinated the rollout with lowering the prices of the other lightning lane passes that could help. If it were up to me I'd introduce an automated "concierge" service where you could just say what attractions you want to do ranked by priority, and the app schedules your whole day (or multiple days) for you. It could use an optimization algorithm to keep things distributed nicely keeping in mind supply and demand across all the attractions, and have it rejig things for you when unexpected things happen (or you ask to change something). This would feel more premium than universal express and they could sell a greater number of them since the optimization algorithm would do a better job at managing resources.00
- Big Thunder Mountain ClosureIn Disney World DiscussionAugust 10, 2024I heard Jungle Cruise is re-opening on October 18th, so I would assume BTM will be open until then. The good news is, the ride is listed on the Very Merry Christmas Party page so maybe it will continue until the end of the year? We may even get a clue later tonight at the D23 parks panel!00
- Is there any point to Multipass at Epcot with early entry? In Lightning Lane ForumAugust 23, 2024Honestly, that’s one ride I don’t have a problem paying for!😂0
- Is there any point to Multipass at Epcot with early entry? In Lightning Lane ForumAugust 23, 2024Yes, I agree it makes sense to purchase a single pass for Guardians.0
- Our party arrives and departs on different daysIn Disney World DiscussionAugust 22, 2024Renting DVC points is a great way to stay in deluxe accommodations at a value/moderate price. You still get all the perks of a deluxe resort, but you have to get your tickets and dining plan separately. Check out DVCRentalStore.com but there are other sites too. Let us know if you have any questions!0
- Is there any point to Multipass at Epcot with early entry? In Lightning Lane ForumAugust 22, 2024Good point. I'll be there during the international festival of the arts, so that may change things. I'll keep an eye on wait times during the food and wine festival.0
- Is there any point to Multipass at Epcot with early entry? In Lightning Lane ForumAugust 22, 2024Yes you're right. So I guess until test track reopens, the question is whether it's worth the money to be able to save time riding one of Remy or Frozen a second time in a given day. Since they're both tier ones, there's no guarantee you'd get a lightning lane for both.0
- What is your favorite Disney Resort? In Ear Scouts LodgeAugust 28, 2024Old post I know, but I was glad to read your perspective on Caribbean Beach. We'll be staying there as a family of 3 in January, this will be our first trip to Disney World. I chose it because it looked like it would feel like a nice escape from the crowds. Walking is our usual everyday mode of transportation so the size of the resort really doesn't look like it would be a problem for us. And if we get some swimming weather (which looks like it does happen from time-to-time in January), I think my kids would really enjoy that pool. Also the food options seem the most aligned with the kinds of things we eat (there looks to be a lot of plant-based options emphasizing rice and beans). And of course, there's the skyliner. So anyway, it was nice to see some confirmation of my impressions of Caribbean Beach in your post, given that I don't generally see a lot of enthusiasm for Caribbean Beach online.0
- An Update Please...In Lightning Lane ForumAugust 31, 2024We will definitely do a new Large Groups video, but it will be a while on that one because we have a lot of Lightning Lane videos queued up first. Thanks for letting us know that you're interested in that one!0
- An Update Please...In Lightning Lane ForumAugust 31, 2024Hi Jason! Sorry for the lengthy delay in responding. We just got back from a trip to D23 Expo and Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Resort. When we planned all that, we had no idea it would be in the middle of a huge change to the Lightning Lane system. Right now we are working our way through Epcot Food & Wine and the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but the next video on the docket will be our new Lightning Lane Multi Pass video series. We will be doing multiple videos for strategies in each park along with a brand new 27 Tips for Lightning Lane Multi Pass video. We'll also have some fun videos about Tokyo coming, too. Thanks for watching and reaching out!20
- Thoughts on the new Lightning Lane Multi PassIn Lightning Lane ForumOctober 28, 2024What I hadn't realised until I watched the latest 27 Tips video, is that you could change the actual date the LLMP pass is used after you buy it, from one day to another. That makes it so much better from my perspective, as it means the money isn't wasted if plans change at the last minute (for example due to weather). One question I have is, up to when can you change the day? Can you change the day on the day itself, provided you haven't tapped into the park yet? I assume also that if you change the day, then all reservations are re-set and don't carry forward to the other day you choose. Anyway, great video (love the playing-card analogy), and this new system isn't as bad as I first feared! :-)10
- Park Hopper Strategy - Animal Kingdom to EpcotIn Lightning Lane ForumNovember 8, 2024My advice for early entry at Animal Kingdom is aim to get there roughly 1 hour before it starts as you will be very close to the front and then go straight for Flight of Passage. That's what the majority of people do, but you'll be on one of the very first people on it. Go straight to Navi River Journey after that as the wait will still be very low, then just make your way clockwise around the park to Kilimanjaro Safari etc. In Rob's most recent video he started in AK with Multi Pass and was able to get Remy later, but I think if it's a must-do for you then I'd pre-book Epcot only for multi pass. The only difficulty would be doing the Frozen ride (if you're wanting to do it), you should be able to get the rest of the Epcot rides fairly easily. I'd also buy a Single Pass for Guardians of the Galaxy.10
