Hi Kumaran! I love Jessica's answer below, but wanted to add a few bits. 1. It sounds like your initial concern is that your first ride you book at 7am would still be blocking you later in the day. This is not the case. Two hours after the park opens, even if you have not used that LL, it no longer affects you at all. It can sit there all day and you will be free to book additional rides so long as you either tap in at those new rides you book or you wait two hours after booking them. 2. Two hours counts down from the time the park where your ride is located opens. So if you book a ride in AK, the two hours starts when AK opens, even if you decide to start your day in a different park that opens later. 3. You can have multiple LLs at different parks so long as you have a ticket that allows park hopping and you purchae the park hopping version of Genie Plus. The only limitation is that you cannot modify an existing LL from one park to a different ride in another park. But you are free to book a new LL in any park you wish. 4. We have a whole series of videos called "Sleep In and Still Do Everything" at each of the parks. The show how to use stacking to your benefit when you'll have a late start to the day. Just remember you can modify times after you book - it totally depends on what you are wanting to ride - for Epcot I always try at 7 am to get Remy then if by some miracle it is too early I can modify it but at magic kingdom I can wait till park open because the rides I want don’t sell out as quick

I think it’s more beneficial to sleep in. You can always play the slots to get a better return time. I’m on vacation right now, and I’m finding the whole Disney Genie system a bit annoying, even though with Rob’s help I’ve gone on everything I wanted with good return times :-) I’ve also noticed that both Genie LL and Individual LL almost always come back even when they show as sold out. Just play those slots.

I think your best option would be to edit your party to only include the people you want to book the Lightning Lane for, then book it just for those people. You could do it the way you suggested and yes the people you cancel for would be able to book a new one straight away, however it's harder to book LLs for a party of 7 than it is for 3-4 people.

Exactly what Craig said! I often forget and try to book and remember when it won't let me that there is a second touch point ahead. 😅

What are touch points? I do Genie Plus along with Standby Skipper.

The ideal scenario is to book a popular ride at 7, and if you can't get a return time right around park opening up front, then try to modify to get it as close to park opening as possible so that you don't have to worry about the "two hours after park open" thing. We did this on our most recent trip two weeks ago and we almost never had a problem backing up even the most popular rides to near park open. The only one we couldn't get that early was Slinky, we got that one back to 3 PM but couldn't get it any earlier, so in that case we had to wait until 11 (2 hours after HS opened that day) to book our next one. I believe the 2 hour after opening rule is smart enough to adjust for different park opening times if you buy Genie+ for that particular park. I am not sure what it does if you buy it for multiple parks. I believe you can book back and forth for different parks but not sure on that, I think there is a video about it though! My own strategy was to book a hugely popular ride at 7 am, and then after that just keep an eye on the times. If other popular rides still appeared to have plenty of availability/early return times, I focused on booking whatever was immediately available so I could ride more things quickly/avoid the two hour rule. If popular rides looked like they might be close to running out/return times were getting later or showing as unavailable, I focused on getting those and modifying earlier if/when I could, even if it activated the two hour rule. Hello Donna! I really hope that Disney will be sprinkling more LL’s for the other most popular rides since that one is going down. For the Early Entry Strategy, for me it will stay the same way: I will focus on doing Remy and Frozen and then I may head to Soarin’ and hope for my boarding group to be called so I can do GoG while I am on that side.

You can book a 2nd Lightning Lane prior to 2 hours after park opening, as long as the Lightning Lane you booked at 7am is earlier than that. If you book Jungle Cruise at 7am with a return time of say 920 (900 park opening), you could book a 2nd LL as soon as 915 when you tap into Jungle Cruie. By park opening time the returns on those hard to get rides might be out pretty far.
