Correct - everyone who has a Lightning Lane needs to tap in. I find a MagicBand very handy and love mine, but I think it depends on whether you will return to the parks. It is not as good of a value if you will only use them for one vacation unless you just like them as a fun souvenir in addition to using them in the parks.

This is personal preference, meaning what do you want to deal with for your easy access to parks. You do not need to buy a band for children, since Disney will offer them cards. I would only say from my experience that the cards sometimes take a moment to work when entering the parks. I prefer the bands since they usually do not have any issues entering parks or tapping in for LL rides. Hope you have an enjoyable time at Disney!

On the subject of After Hours, I’m thinking of booking for May when I visit from the UK, but my plan will be to only go on Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Tron and Seven Dwarfs as often as possible!!

I definitely agree with Craig – the beauty of Park Hoppers is that you don't have to stress so much about getting everything done in one day. You can always circle back any other day to cross some things off your list. Hope you have been having fun!

If you will be in the park during the first couple of hours, you can avoid having to wait two hours from park open by simply tapping in at your first ride. So let's say you book something with a return time right at park open - that would let you book again as soon as you tapped in to ride. In this way, you are better off booking at 7 so you can hopefully get a very early first return time.

You definitely get a refund, but I'm not sure how it's handled. It might be automatic, or you may have to go to one of the Guest Services stations with the blue umbrellas. Hopefully someone has more experience with this!
