- First time at Disney and had questions about Christmas holidaysIn Disney World DiscussionNovember 25, 2023I think it depends what kind of trip your planning, with an 8yr old I would double check height requirements and see what their able to do. Yes it'll be crowded, deff be up at 7am for Genie/ILL since some things might sell out early on, but I think you should be able to do quite a lot! especially with 2 day sin MK, Hollywood might be trickier to do all the heavy hitter attractions so just focus on your top 3-5 and you should have a blast! good luck!00
- Park hopping on ChristmasIn Disney World DiscussionDecember 28, 2023Woo-hoo! So glad to hear you had a magical holiday vacation. It's our favorite time to be here. Best wishes for an amazing 2024!0
- 1st Disney visit-Magic Kingdom 12/18/2023In Disney World DiscussionDecember 15, 2023Hi. Love the thought you have put into this. It may be a bit late now but I would definitely consider swapping your MK day away from Monday. Counter-intuative I know but EVERYBODY thinks like you have and goes on a non-party day. And Monday is objectovely the worst day of the week to go to MK as well. Have a look at Brickers article here https://www.disneytouristblog.com/magic-kingdom-standby-itinerary-without-genie-plus-half-day-party-night/ Whatever you end up doing you'll enjoy as you seem prepared - flexibity and a sense of humour is key! Have a great time. Well envious!00
- 2024 Flower & Garden!!In Disney World DiscussionDecember 17, 2023Awww, that's lovely. Hubby and I had a solo trip from the uk in September and went to the Food and Wine festival. Omg it was soooo good. This year we are over with our daughters, son's in laws and grandchildren but maybe 2025 festival of the holidays. I think the scavenger hunts are always great fun and from all the YouTube research I did the topiaries looked amazing, so much detail. My daughter is a gardener so we are thinking of tickets for the tour round the living with the land pavilion, that looks interesting too. Have fun xx00
- Keys to the Kingdom tourIn Disney World DiscussionDecember 15, 2023You're welcome! I wasn't aware of it either until about a year ago0
- 1st Disney visit-Magic Kingdom 12/18/2023In Disney World DiscussionDecember 10, 2023Hi Carley! First off, you seem to have put a lot of thought & planning into your MK day, so that will be super helpful in accomplishing your goals! One little tip I thought I'd throw it, which you may already know. If you have any heavy hitter attractions that you don't get to rope drop or can't get a LL for, save it for the end of the day. As long as you get in line before the park closes, you'll be able to ride. That way you're not wasting valuable park time standing in a long line. If you're ok with missing fireworks or a parade, those are good times to ride as well with lower waits. I hope you have an amazing time!00
- 4 parks 1 dayIn Disney World DiscussionDecember 14, 2023Since all day park hopping starts on Jan 9, I'm guessing it will be slightly crazier than normal with excited AP folks taking advantage of their new (old) perk. That said, I totally agree with @Lee Rodriguez with the only caveat being that you need to make sure you enter Epcot before 1pm so you can qualify for the 1pm VQ drop for Guardians. Set that alarm and be sure you grab it right at 1pm. Sounds like a wild day - let us know how it goes! 😃00
- 2024 Flower & Garden!!In Disney World DiscussionDecember 25, 2023I feel your excitement! I was there just in May 2023 from the UK whilst the F&G Festival was on - just me and my 78 year old mother, and we loved all the character flower displays especially. 2024 trip now booked, also for May (after not having been to Orlando for almost 25 years, will now be 2 years in succession)! Didn't get round to doing all the rides in Epcot last year, so looking forward to that too!00
- Keys to the Kingdom tourIn Disney World DiscussionDecember 11, 2023You're welcome! I checked with some people in my Disney FB group and they said midnight as well, so I'm feeling more confident about my answer now lol! I think anything you need reservations for that is NOT dinning, is typically going to open up at midnight 60 days in advance. Good luck getting your reservations!0
- 2024 Flower & Garden!!In Disney World DiscussionJanuary 15, 2024I'm planning a trip in early March and i'm very excited about the festival! I went last year and it was the first epcot festival I had ever exprirenced since my first trip to WDW ever was in late 2020 during the soft opening after covid. There is an iphone app called "Food&Wine" (sort of a gray icon with a red & and a white wine glass) that is free and super detailed with festival offerings. They don't have the Flower & Garden lists up quite yet but when they do i would recommend going through and flagging the items you want to have! it's a really cool app and you can see the price totals for everything on your wish list and then you can see people's ratings and photos as well. And when you leave a rating you get a passport stamp which is fun as well - i like to try and get my stamps from around the world at each festival!00
- Dining Reservation after park closes but before MVMCPIn Disney World DiscussionNovember 28, 2023So I just got an update from a Cast Member. While you are allowed to dine at 6:30, you should plan on being at the restaurant at 6pm. If you pass a checkpoint without a wristband, you may be asked to leave the park even though you have the reservation. This is because even though you are allowed to be at the dining reservation, you are not allowed to be roaming the park after 6. They have a courtyard in front of Skipper Canteen where you can relax until they are able to seat you.00
- Tiana's Bayou Adventure Added to WDW WebsiteIn Disney World DiscussionMay 5, 2024Ahhhhhh....I think I'm just gonna miss this one, unless it opens before 23 May when I fly home :-( Oh well, something to look forward to in 2026 when I'll hopefully make it back to Orlando!0
