Hi Madeleine! Unfortuneately I’ve only heard one possible way around this, but it’s not going to work for everyone lol. If you know someone in the US who you can add to your reservation, they should be able to make LL reservations for the entire group at the 7 day mark. Doesn’t matter if they actually take the trip with you. Of course we still don’t know if that would work, but in theory it should! Unfortunately you need an extra space on your reservation and a friend in the states you can trust 😬. Hopefully more workarounds will be found and/or Disney will make it work. Regardless, I’m sure you will have an amazing holiday! Keep us informed!

I think you have some good plans! Guardians is my favorite ride right now so I usually try for both a SPLL AND a VQ. It’s a must ride for me. Sometimes I will get a VQ and cancel it if I don’t feel like waiting in a long VQ line (They are still pretty long lines). Tbh, the queue at Guardians isn’t all that great unless you are a fan of the films. In general, you can find YouTube videos of most queues along with the actual ride. I hate spoilers, but it’s not like the queues offer any big ‘surprises’. The nice ones just give you something to do/look at while you wait which is greatly appreciated! Just stop the video before the ride starts! After purchasing LLs for Flight of Passage for several visits, I finally did early entry once and rope dropped the ride. It was great! The line moved pretty much the whole time but I still got to see all the queue has to offer. I remember that was on Halloween day. It was dark when we arrived so Pandora looked amazing all lit up! By the time we got off the ride, the sun was up and it was gorgeous! Rob and Erick did a great early entry video for AK if you haven’t seen it. As far as your MK plan, that sounds good to me, but I’m going to say I’m 99% sure Tiana will no longer have a Virtual Queue and will just have standby and LL multi pass lines. I actually think VQ will end on July 24 when the new LL system goes live, but that’s purely my own opinion/prediction. You should have a good idea on what wait times will be like for your trip by then by checking the My Disney Experience app. Also sounds good for the Studios. Don’t forget to ride Runaway Railway! (A personal fave!)

Thank you for the tips! I like the idea of taking one afternoon to just hang out and have a nice dinner. We're from Canada, so January in Florida will still feel like pool weather for my kids. I'm thinking of aiming for getting the must-dos early on our trip so that we have the option to do them again later in the trip. For my kids this is going to be the star wars rides. I'm also going to show them some videos to assess what other attractions they might be interested in ahead of time (but after Christmas, since this trip will be their surprise Christmas gift). One potential drawback of the new lightning lane multi pass booking system is that we probably won't actually know what rides we like best until part way through our trip. I'm hoping we'll be able to modify. One of the main reasons I chose Caribbean beach was for the skyliner, particularly since I want to get back to the resort in the afternoons. Also I suspect Hollywood Studios will be the most appealing park for my kids. But I recently discovered that the skyliner will likely be down for refurbishment for at least part of our trip. Would you recommend switching to a different resort in that case?

@Madeleine M I was speaking to a friend from the UK who is going next week. If you block the location permissions that the Disney app requires you can then get past the screen where it says "US & Canada" only. I tried this on my phone (I'm also in the UK) and it worked, didn't even need a VPN! I don't have a valid ticket, so can't go much further but it looked like it would have allowed me to purchase it.

So how do I link my account and my sons account so he can reserve rides for his family at the same time I am for myself and hubby?

According to the WDW website, Tiana's will be both Genie + and VQ. That is why I was asking.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to update that unfortunately, I won’t be able to test this out this weekend, as we’ve had to postpone our trip a few weeks thanks to a poorly timed case of Covid. Looking forward to testing this out later in July (and maybe seeing what others are able to do after official opening!)

I will just miss it since we will be there from July 13-20.

This is looking more complicated than the current Genie system. I had hoped Disney would decrease the amount of advanced planning necessary and allow for a bit more spontaneity! There are more tiers than before, more rules about advanced planning, and it all seems a bit messy.
