- Let's talk about Disneyland Paris! In Ear Scouts LodgeSeptember 1, 2025Hi Rob, Just watched your Disneyland Paris video again and it is so helpful! I was wondering, what month you were there? The crowds looked manageable and weather also looked cool. With the Premier Access pass would you say one day for each park would work and would you recommend it? We are currently planning a trip for late July, 2026 but would love to avoid the crowds. We are going to Bavaria afterwards so would appreciate any tips from you or your Scouts. Thanks! Diana12
- ROLL CALL - When is your NEXT Disney Trip?In Welcome to Ear Scouts·July 29, 2025Hey everyone - been a while since we have just done a quick check in here on when is everyone's next trip and what is the biggest question you have that you would love Ear Scouts to help answer? Our next Trip isn't until September and I am really excited about the new night time parade - but also worried about not getting the best location for pictures. Thinking happy thoughts in NYC today!2230
- Fantasmic Dining Package - which restaurant? In Disney World DiscussionJuly 28, 2025Hey Ellen - great question - I will say that we have ALWAYS done Brown Derby as our Fantasmic meal - mainly because we felt it was worth the money and we would have eaten the courses anyway. Brown Derby is consistent and is typically a nice break from the hectic day at the parks. If your son is an adventurous eater this is a great choice. H&V will most likely be Christmas characters when you are going so if that is something you are interested in getting pictures of - unique holiday costumes. Then that might make a difference for you. I personally would only go to H&V during special times of the year to get these unique costumes - otherwise it is just a buffet. A Disney buffet is better than just about any buffet - but still a buffet. Hope this helps - Jess21
- DVC rental sitesIn Disney World DiscussionJuly 4, 2025Thanks both for your replies and recommendations. I will definitely look into those and hopefully find a resort that suits both our dates and budget!11
- Rope Dropping Guardians from International Gateway? In Disney World DiscussionJune 11, 2025I completely get your perspective, I always want to ride our favorites more than once per day! I think to have a very low wait you would need to be going in the front entrance, as people coming in there will obviously have an advantage over you. That said, you could certainly still get a lower wait coming in from the back then you would generally during the day.11
- Early Morning Dining ReservationIn Disney World DiscussionMay 31, 2025The buses will most likely start earlier than that. My best guess is the first bus will depart at 7 or 7:15am (based on having been on an MK bus that early 3 times, those with more experience please chime in as to whether this is normal), and I think you should have no problem getting to your dining reservation on time. If you don't want to take any chances, then I'd book a Minnie Van. An ordinary Lyft or Uber won't get you to the front gates of Magic Kingdom, and instead will drop you at the transportation and ticket center (TTC) and you'd have to take the monorail or ferry from there.11
- 3day park itinerary helpIn Disney World DiscussionMay 3, 2025Thank you Kiran for your insight. We are staying at a hotel near Disney springs that has early entry benefits, not actually on site. I watched the video on Rob's day at AK, and it looked really enjoyable. We definitely will be getting LLMPs for MK, but you might be right for needing to pony up for the SP as well!11
- Rate My PlanIn Lightning Lane ForumApril 3, 2025Here's one way you could do this: Do Navi first thing during early entry. It shouldn't be too long a line since most people will go to Flight of Passage first. You will likely be late for your Tusker reservation, but if the Navi lineup is short enough you won't be too late. Do Kilimanjaro right after breakfast, I'm guessing you'll have a 30-minute wait, but it will only get longer from there. Get single passes for Flight of Passage. If they are sold out, don't worry, they'll add more throughout the morning. Plan to do this after Kilimanjaro on your way back to the front gates. I think you'll get to Hollywood Studios at around 10:30 with this plan, so you will still be able to make the official return times for your lightning lanes.1
- DVC newbie questionsIn Disney World DiscussionMarch 30, 2025@Craig Culp yes that's very helpful, thank you! I wasn't planning to do another trip so soon but as luck would have it I'm going to be in Orlando for a conference, so I figured why not? It will give be a chance to test the Lightning Lane optimization app I'm building.1
- What is your favorite Disney Resort? In Ear Scouts LodgeMarch 31, 2025I've seen some videos of the renovated 1BR villas. While the pull-out chair in the living room has been our daughter's favorite, I think she'll enjoy the Murphy beds just as well. She certainly loved the one in a CBR 5th sleeper we spent a night in last year on our split stay. I noticed that the 1BRs in the videos looked a bit smaller in the living room/kitchen area as I remember it. That might just be due to where in the tower they were located. We've always stayed in lake view villas towards the center (between the elevators) that were either 2BRs or a lock-off in 1BR mode. I agree that BLT is underrated. The more subdued theming appeals to me and I see it as looking more clean than sterile. So long as MK is our kid's favorite park, I really can't imagine staying anywhere else, except maybe the Poly tower.1
- The science of Pixar at the Connecticut science center was a great event that included STEM learning with animation. We had a great time!In Ear Scouts Lodge·March 30, 20251113
- What is your favorite Disney Resort? In Ear Scouts LodgeMarch 28, 2025Have you seen the renovated rooms? I think BLT is underrated in general and you can’t beat the location! I’ll be staying in the new Island Tower in June and can’t wait! Good to know I can walk back from MK if transportation is backed up. We are getting hoppers as well to take advantage of things like that. Hoping for a very Zen vacation lol.1
