We are staying at the Boardwalk and wondered if it’s faster to take the skyliner to Studios or the Friendship boats or just plain hoof it? Specifically asking for in the mornings when trying to get to early entry.

Just wanted to add that the boat is a lovely way to return to the Boardwalk after a long day at the Studios! Just get off at the S/D if you don't want to stay on for two stops. Just be careful. If it's raining, the ramp to the boat can be very slippery. That's how I found out, at age 60, that I still can't do the splits. 🤷♂️😂
I agree with everyone here and whenever time is critical, I walk. It is theoretically sometimes faster to take the boat, but as Craig said - that's only if everything is timed exactly right which almost never happens.
I always suggest walking, especially if you are staying on the Villas side of the resort. If you happen to see a boat leaving Yacht and Beach and you think you can catch it at the Swan and Dolphin, that may be quicker but you have to time it just right. I agree with Jonny when it comes to early entry too. Think of it as a guaranteed arrival time vs. having to possibly wait for Disney transportation. BTW, the order of Friendship Boat stops is: Epcot - Boardwalk - Yacht and Beach - Swan and Dolphin - Hollywood Studios. The route is just reversed going from the Studios to Epcot.
If your aim is to be near the front of early entry then I'd say walking is your safest option, it apparently takes about 10 minutes to walk.
