Hi,
I just found Rob and the Ear Scouts this week! I've been going to Disney for several years and learn new stuff all the time, but I had not come across his site before (I don't watch a lot of youtube....). His videos have been so great and I'm sure you all will have some perfect insight for me!!!!
Anyways, we are doing a 4-day park hopper tickets in July. Our plan was to hit at least 2 parks a day. Of our 4 mornings we were going to do D1 am- AK, D2 am- EP; D3 am- AK, D4 am- HS-- mostly because of heat and AK we can get the things we want to do knocked out early. Afternoons respectively would be: HS, MK, MK, EP
My question to the group.... On the mornings we are doing AK, should we go ahead and get the AK multipass LL OR should I get the multipass LL for the park we'll be in the afternoon as we are targeting "high card" attractions (e.g. Slinky Dog, Tiana, etc). I watched Rob's video about starting at AK because you get in early and the LL is lower cost, and you can grab the other parks LLs in that 8am hour before the other parks open, but for a family of 4 I'm afraid by the time we attempt to get these popular attractions, the LL will be gone for the day.
Hopefully this makes sense and you all have great suggestions!!! ;)

I really think you should prioritize which rides you want. Maybe for one of the later days in the trip do the HS MP to get slinky dog if it really is a priority!
More my family Rise is our only real HS must do_ so we very rarely get MP there.
I find you really don’t need MO at AK if you early entry.
Heigh-Ho Rebecca! I would say the biggest question for you would be are you doing early entry? Your strategy would likely change drastically with early entry. If not, then it is a benefit to use LL for the park you are going to first. For example, in July AK opens at 730 am, so I would get the earliest LL for like Navi River (730/745 am) then as soon as you tap in get Slinky Dog in HS. You will still have two LL's in AK and can pick Rocking Rollercoaster or Mickey and Minnie Railroad when you tap in to the next attraction in AK. This leaves your last one for some LL's in AK. Most of the other rides at HS will have availability throughout the day, so by the time you leave AK you can get that last attraction (Tower of Terror - maybe). Just a thought.
Heigh-Ho Rebecca! Just got back from a trip and it was my first time using LLMP and park hopping. I think your strategy is pretty sound. The one ‘insider tip’ that really helped us was the two hour window (Technically and hour and 59 minutes) after the LL expires. We could overlap as much as we wanted to and didn’t feel rushed. We also didn’t necessarily hop to the park we had originally planned on. Flexibility can be key! In the future tho, I think we will stick with the one park-one day strategy, but since your hoppers are included, take full advantage!! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
Thanks all! I appreciate the insight- we were loosely structuring a park hopping day. The package I got had park hoppers and my kids are finally at the age that this will not be an challenging experience- so we are excited to actually park hop. But, we still want to use the LL to get things they really like.
Rob's video does show you an book the LLs in AK and still get the big rides in the other parks, so its definitely possible. It's also quite a risky strategy, I think you need to be pre booking for the other parks to be sure of getting the likes of Slinky and Tianas. You'll be able to get everything done at AK across the two mornings you're there.
What Rachel says is correct with regards to LLs, for HS and MK in particular its always better to get to them early so you can start booking more rides.
Any particular reason you're wanting to split the days?
So I don't know if I quite understand the logic in breaking up parks on multiple days. I think to get the best LL, I would stick in one park a day because the best rides, no matter what park, will have the most LL early in the day and the shortest waits. Also, being in one park for an entire day gives you flexible on timing of each ride (and more opportunities to modify times of LLs the same day) and cuts down on time wasted between parks. But I think I am missing a priority of your planning. You probably don't need LL for AK, but honestly I would just stick with one park a day because it will be easier and the cost difference is not worth the hassle for me.
