LLMP Path for a group with young kids (their first time). Help avoid zig zagging all over.

Hello! I'm trying to plan out the best paths to take / strategies, for a group with 3 youngish, first timer, children. Trying to figure out how to best utilize Lightning Lanes while avoiding crisscrossing and doubling back all over the park. Would like to limit the miles on their legs, while also taking the time to take everything in. It all seems a bit overwhelming (I haven't been to Disney since og FastPass). If you buy LL, how often, if at all, are you using the regular line for the non premium attractions? Or are you always using it? I was watching your recent video about using LL to "unlock" yourself. Very useful information.

Won't be doing any Park Hopping, just 1 Park per day.

And for instance. 1st LL Space Mtn, 2nd Haunted Mansion, 3rd Splash Mtn. All spread out 3+hrs apart? Then after tapping in at Space Mtn after rope drop, use the open LL slot / standby lines, to hit other rides around TomorrowLand? Or do you try to pick 3 rides in the same vicinity? Am I doing this right? Other, better, recommendations?

I definitely did this for my group - We would tackle one land at a time and it worked fine. I would just say start in the land that has your highest priority rides AND are the most popular. I also decided to cut certain tier 1 rides that either we don't care about or aren't that appealing and use early entry and individual lightning lanes to our advantage. Book and ride your rides as early as possible and hold those "Ace" cards if needed. Cutting certain rides right off the bat helped us not stress and focus on the rides that were the best fit for our group. For example, my 7 year old was a bit too young for Tron, so we didn't even bother. good luck!

That’s a great point Rachel! Knowing my boyfriend wasn’t all that interested in riding Slinky Dog again on his second trip made planning SO much easier!

I was at Disney earlier in the year with 2 children, so I totally get not wanting to zig zag! Buying multipass definitely allows you to take your time more and have breaks.

Splash Mountain is Tiana's Bayou Adventure now, I'm guessing that's what you mean. Space Mountain and Tiana's are both Tier 1 attractions so you will only be able to pre-book one of those. Tiana's is definitely the one to pre-book as it's super popular.

Haunted Mansion is a good choice and perhaps you could book Pirates of the Caribbean as you could likely get that super early, which will "unlock you" and then start booking other rides in that area.

Also are you staying on Disney? If so, you could utilize Early Entry to get some of the popular rides done.

Yes planning on staying on property. Will definitely try and make the most of early entry. I just wanted to avoid zipping and crossing all over MK because I'm not booking the rides logically. I wanted to make time for them to spend I'm front of the castle for the first time, etc. But most of the videos I see are people just running from ride to ride. Probably too anxious for no reason, but still.

What route would you choose if it was your kids first time? What would be your LL picks / strategy

I think those videos where people are charging around tend to be because they're trying to do literally everything in one day. Realistically there will likely be some attractions or shows that you're not bothered about.

First advice (which Rob always says!) is to make a list of your "must do's" and ensure you prioritise those.

In terms of strategy I'd take advantage of Early Entry and do Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Peter Pan early.

For multi-pass I'd pre-book Tiana's, Haunted Mansion and then one other as your "unlock ride". Pirates would be a good option if you're going to start going that way. After your first ride, you'll have to prioritise Jungle Cruise (if you want to do it) as that is a popular one. Then if you can get Big Thunder Mountain then that area of the park will be pretty much done.

You're probably not going to be able to get every ride in the order you want, but multi pass allows you time to have a break so if you have to wait an hour for a lightning lane it's not necessarily a bad thing.
