Lyft to International Gateway

Hello! We are staying on property at Universal Studios, but I found a day I could go check out the flower and garden festival at Epcot, is it true I can take a Lyft or Uber to Boardwalk and walk to the international gateway? Or is it easier to just take a ride share to the front entrance?

I love the ear scouts community! Thank you in advance for the advice!

Hey Kiran,

We arrived via Uber and security didn’t look thrilled to let us in but they did. Maybe someone on here has some more experience than the one time I did it!

I read on plandisney that you could get turned away by Boardwalk security unless you have a dining reservation (https://plandisney.disney.go.com/question/uber-toboardwalk-resort-able-enter-foot-france-555179/) Is this true in practice? I'm looking for an option to do early entry at Epcot via international gateway. I'll be at a skyliner resort but there's a high chance it will be down for refurbishment during my stay.

If you are driving your own car, yes. I personally have never had an issue using Uber though. That being said, we took an Uber to Wilderness Lodge on Monday before the Halloween party. Wanted to eat at Geyser Point so no reservations. The gate guy let us right in. The Uber driver just said it totally depends on the guard, but most times, it is not a problem.

Thank you Craig. I hope we get to use the skyliner, but uber to boardwalk seems like a good backup plan.

We got a Lyft from All Start Sports to the Boardwalk (based on people's recommendations here!) and it was no problem at all. We opted for a Minnie Van just for the fun of it, but I guess that also meant it's a Disney vehicle so security wouldn't have stopped it.

So if you're worried, my recommendation if you're on Disney property is to book a Minnie Van with Lyft.

I 100% agree with Craig - ride share to Boardwalk or Beach Club instead. International Gateway is a much more peaceful way to enter the parks, too.

Beach Club is a little closer to International Gateway, but yes! One of my favorite tricks is to Uber to one of the Epcot resorts and use the back entrance. The new ride share drop at Epcot is quite a hike! And if I can have breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno before heading to the park, all the better!

Ah yes. MK is a different animal when it comes to Uber. Minnie Vans will take you to the gate if that works for your party. If I plan on rope dropping, I'll try to get breakfast at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian and just stroll over. No tricks for HS or AK. The ride share areas aren't too far away.

You’re very welcome! Also wanted to add that if you want to hit Frozen from International Gateway, it’s faster to go toward the UK and Canada than it is to go the counter clockwise route.
